
Gennaro Tortora is a criminal defense lawyer authorized to practice before the Court of Cassation, specializing in criminal law, criminal procedure, corporate liability under Legislative Decree 231/2001, economic and business criminal law, and criminal law relating to the public administration, with experience also in environmental, urban-planning and building-related offenses.
He has been a member of the Naples Bar since 2004 and of the Special Register for advocates authorized to practice before the Court of Cassation since February 2019. He began his professional legal career in 1999, first at the firm of Avv. Angelo Peluso, President of the Criminal Chamber, and later alongside Avv. Edoardo Cardillo and Prof. Avv. Alfonso Furgiuele. He advises public bodies, companies with public shareholdings and private clients; he has served as legal counsel to the Municipality of Pozzuoli since 2022, as adviser to the Mayor of Pozzuoli and, since 2024, to the Mayor of Casamicciola Terme, and was legal adviser at the European Parliament from 2018 to 2024 to MEP Giosi Ferrandino.
He has also developed specific expertise in preparing pro veritate legal opinions, advising corporate and administrative bodies, and designing and implementing organizational models and control systems under Legislative Decree 231/2001. Alongside his legal practice, he has developed a long academic career, collaborating for more than a decade with the Chair of Criminal Procedure at the University of Naples Federico II under the guidance of Prof. Avv. Alfonso Furgiuele, and teaching criminal law and criminal procedure at several universities and postgraduate schools, including Federico II, the University of Salerno and UniPegaso.
He earned his law degree from the University of Naples Federico II in 1999 and a diploma from the School of Specialization for Legal Professions in 2002. He is the author of publications and academic contributions in criminal law and criminal procedure.
